Proxies for MMO — Residential, Datacenter, or Mobile? Choose Wrong and Accounts Die

Proxy is the thing most people cheap out on, but it's actually the most important thing in MMO. Buy expensive mail, expensive clones, then use free proxy = throw it all away.

The 3 common proxy types

1. Residential

IPs from real ISPs (Comcast, AT&T...). Platforms can barely detect these because they look like real users.

Pro: Highest trust of all three.
Con: Expensive, inconsistent speed.
Use for: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok — platforms with strong anti-bot.

2. Datacenter

IPs from data centers. Fast, cheap, but easy to detect.

Pro: Cheap, fast, stable.
Con: Easy to detect, mass blocks.
Use for: Scraping, SEO, email — tasks that don't need to "pretend to be human".

3. Mobile (4G/5G)

IPs from mobile networks. Highest trust because real people also share the same IP pool.

Pro: Hardest to detect.
Con: Most expensive, slowest.
Use for: All platforms, especially when IPs keep getting banned.
